Holly Hunter (born Holly Hunter) is an American actor and producer. She has been recognized for her exceptional roles in films such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano, and The Incredibles. The actress won numerous awards, like an Oscar for her role in the film Piano. The talented actress began her career as an actor by performing on stage, through a variety of Broadway and Off-Broadway shows. The art of acting has been a constant love of life. When she was in fifth grade, she portrayed Helen Keller in an original show. The fifth grade was the year that after having mumps she lost hearing in the left ear. She did not let that stop her. The college she attended was drama before moving from Pittsburgh to New York City to follow her goals. She was introduced to Beth Henley in an elevator and the pair collaborated in Broadway Crimes of the Heart, Hunter's first film. When she moved into Los Angeles, Hunter tried to land movie roles. An supporting role was secured for her in Swing Shift. Since then, she has appeared in numerous movies, television shows and films over the course of her 30-year career. Holly Hunter was awarded a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star as well as the Women in Film Lucy Award.
